“I didn’t think floor machines had changed that much over the years,” says Bill Scott, owner of W and M Services in Oakland County, Michigan. “In fact, many look like the machines they were making 50 years ago.”
For Scott, the lack of technological advancements in floor machines was becoming a real problem. One of his clients, a super high-tech medical facility, was pressuring him to use a “Greener” floor machine in their facility.
In addition, Scott was looking for a machine that would be easier to maneuver around cabinets, desks, and workstations compared to conventional rotary machines – helping to improve worker productivity and the bottom line.
Things took a change for the better when Scott was introduced to the BR Vario from Tornado Industries. Using cylindrical brush technology—rotating brushes are at each end of the machine’s square base—the BR Vario uses as much as a third less chemical and water than a conventional floor machine, which makes it healthier to use and safer for the environment.
And the BR Vario “floats” over floors, is flat and low lying, with a handle that folds parallel to the ground. These features allow it to slide in and around cabinets and workstations, and glide along wall edges and into corners — just what Scott wanted.
The machine’s brushes rotate at 1,000 rpms. And the BR Vario has six times the contact pressure of a conventional floor machine, so it strips and scrubs floors as much as 2.5 times faster than a conventional buffer.
“The BR Vario is everything we were looking for,” says Scott. “It is new technology, Green, and easier and faster to use than a rotary machine; and what’s more, my client’s floors never looked better!”
